Adam Lambert...appears @ Mandalay Bay in Vegas! Idol star sold out!
What do you want from me?
In the case of Adam Lambert, not much.
The American Idol runner-up - who took the Nation by storm last year in spite of the fact he didn't snatch up the coveted 1st prize on Fox's hit variety show - has a lot to crow about nonetheless.
Hit tunes running up the charts are nothing to quibble at, for starters.
And now, Lambert boasts sold out live! concerts in Vegas at Mandalay Bay this weekend.
It appears that the sky is no imit for this rising star taking the show-biz arena by storm non-stop!
A movie in the offing?

American Idol...Katie's swan song! Adam Lambert tears up stage! Idol gives back...
American Idol started off tonight with a sly innuendo.
With a sweeping gesture to the contestants on stage, Ryan Seacrest quipped with a straight face.
“I give you the top nine."
Catch that?
It was right up there with Ellen’s comment that one singer’s performance was horny.
No, Ellen didn’t have the hots for the nubile young babe, to my knowledge.
She was referring to the horn section which buttressed the segment up during the performance.
By the way, the intro to American Idol was electric.
At the top of Fox's hit show, clips featured flash-backs of Idol contestants in the midst of sets, interspersed with dazzling shots of Vegas nightlife.
A medley of Elvis hits - though a bit pedestrian - put the rapt audience in a great mood.
The highlight here was “Teddy Bear” which teased fans affectionately.
Producers satisfied the desires of the thronging masses with up-close-and-personal candid shots of their favorite performers.
Indeed, when artists in full song strode full-frame into camera, they must have caused hearts to flutter at home.
The rendition of "Return to Sender" was a little too cheery and lacked bite.
Listen to the lyrics, kids!
Elvis was frustrated about the fact his passionate letters were being returned post haste unopened and unread.
Casey’s interaction with the judges in this segment underscored there is a mischievous likeable dude underneath the stoic shell he presents to the world.
Lee’s playing to camera was a turn-on for fans, no doubt.
He has that teddy bear quality about him that girls (and guys) snuggle up to.
But, all eyes were on Adam Lambert last night!
Adam Lambert, rising Pop Icon, appeared in a swirl of lasers on stage.
From a symbolic standpoint, he appeared to be locked inside a cocoon, at first.
As the camera panned in, the Idol legend was captured in silhouette in a breathtaking shot or two, that was worth the price of admission (ha!).
Then, after he wailed soulfully a moment or two, he busted out with the catchy infectious lyrics.
"What do 'Ya want from me?"
Amid a dazzling spray of blinding lights - and a riot of captivating musical indulgences - Adam Lambert proceeded to strut the stage cocky, confident, in charge and in control.
What a dynamite show-stopping performance!
Down 'n dirty, soulful, other-worldly.
Surely, he gave David Bowie a run for his money.
Tonight, was an emotional turning point for the competitors, no wonder.
A “double elimination” would close the show-biz door on 2 hopefuls pining to stay through the final stages of the ratings-getting show.
As Sinatra would say, that's life.
In a surprise built-in promo, Ryan Seacrest noted that American Idol was going green.
Cut to singers in the street astride fuel-guzzling autos when - poof - the clunkers suddenly disintegrate before the audiences's very eyes.
In their place, fuel-efficient green vehicles sprang up in their place, natch.
“Follow the day and reach for the sun” was the catchy upbeat slogan the songbirds chirped proudly to all within earshot.
Get this, viewers may cruise over to the Idol site, and enter a contest to win an Idol-inspired Ford Fiesta.
Meanwhile, back at the Fox lot, the drama strarted to unfold in the first elimination round.
Fans went wild when Ryan asked Casey to stand up and have a chat.
Liked his shirt, by the way. Cool.
Aaron, unfortunately, rustled up a timid response when he was asked to stand in the huddle to face the music, too.
Andrew savored a moment or two in the sun, before bowing his head in anticipation of the drum roll, next up.
As the three stood in line, facing the gun, the audience held their collective breath.
Talk about high drama
When the camera panned to Simon, for some inexplicable reason, he was flushed.
Too many drinkie poo's?
Or, too long under the sun lamp, perhaps?
Just maybe, he was keeping a lid on things in view of his recent spats with fans in the audience?
In a recap prior to the axe falling, it was underscored that that there wasn’t much hound dog (or swagger) in Andrew’s stab at Elvis.
“The coolness was sucked out of you.”
Ouch.
Without much drawn-out-drama after that - Andrew was banished by Ryan - just like that.
No build up. No nothing.
Andrew's last song to the audience, in the final analysis, appeared to signal why he was shown the door.
Talk about a forgetable mediocre performance!
Even still, the other contestants swarmed the lad on stage at the end of his swan song, in a heartfelt attempt to console the optimistic crooner.
In my humble opinion?
He overstayed his welcome.
At this juncture, producers cut away to a promo for "Idol Gives Back" which broadcasts next week (featuring inspirational songs).
Seacrest noted there is still a good selection of auction items available to bid for online.
Since the funds go to charity, check it out, eh?
Also, Idol partnered with Exxon to help the impoverished (suffering from hunger and disease) in Angola, Africa.
In a touching clip, plans underway for a new dormitory to house the homeless, was uplifting to watch.
The organization has been providing "nets" to prevent the spread of malaria, too.
Malaria kills 3000 people a day in that troubled nation.
A net, which costs a mere $10.00, can save (and has prolonged) lives in Africa.
An upcoming concert will feature headliners such as Sir Elton John, Annie Lennox, Black-eyed Peas, and others.
Tickets may be purchased at Ticketmaster.
A live on-stage performance - of a tune Elvis made a hit - was beautifully performed on Idol by two artists (on piano & guitar) by the names of Brooke and Justin respectively.
Their song styling of - "If I could Dream" (was that the exact title?) - was vastly entertaining.
Popular Seacrest noted that it can be downloaded on I-Tunes for free.
Idol is introducing a new feature - Mom Idol - as well.
The show is searching for amazing moms to celebrate.
Check the Idol site for details.
With all that out of the way, the lights were dimmed, and the second elimination commenced.
At this juncture, audience members got quite vocal, and more emotionally involved.
Lee, when asked, noted his performances didn't feel like auditions at this stage of the contest.
"I'm doing a show and enjoying myself."
Simon said he nailed the tune.
Katie Stevens, Ryan recalled, was considered annoying in some quarters.
Randy said she exhibited a confident sassy side, though.
Ellen’s horny comment (aforementioned) unfortunately went over people’s heads for the most part.
I got it.
But, I’m a fan of bad puns, so you figure it out.
Katie expressed the sentiment that she wanted to grow each week as much as possible.
“I’ve done that, I think. I hope so, anyway.”
Michael lynch got a lot of applause in the elimination line-up.
“I love the Judges and the people," he beamed.
He felt grateful for every moment he assued the attentive fans pulling for him.
Crystal Bowersox, a favorite, was described as the second coming of Bonnie Rae.
Tim Urban was lauded for his best performance to date.
Ellen compared his set to the first shot of tequila.
"You've gone from zero to hero," Simon piped up.
At this juncture, Ryan walked up behind Crystal and patted her on the back.
"You're safe."
Lee was asked to take a walk with Ryan, who summarily sat him down on the other side of the stage, and hit him with the news point-blank.
You're coming back!
Oh, Ryan, you devil.
As it turns out, Katie Stevens was given the heave-ho.
Ironically, her send off song was "Let it be".
When she sang - "In my hour of darkness" - both she and the audience choked up.
Was there a dry eye in the house?
It wasn't meant to be, after all.
If it is any consolation, Katie, I have learned over the years that sometimes we make plans for ourselves which aren't a good fit.
In spite of that fact, folks go on blindly banging their heads against the wall, in pursuit of a goal that's not suited for for them.
Sometimes, the Lord has better plans for us, so let go - Katie.
Let God's invisible hand guide you.
On that note, see y'all next week, when Alicia Keyes hits the stage!

American Idol...Adam Lambert performs! Elvis remembered! Ellen washed out!
American Idol got a shot in the arm tonight when Adam Lambert turned up - all glam - and mentored a handful of the young hopefuls competing on this season's talent show extravaganza.
The first thing you notice about the charismatic pop icon is his eyes.
The luminous peepers - with a hint of sparkle and sly mischief peering out - are a startling blue (me thinks!) brought to the fore with shades of eye shadow that accent the obvious.
This boy is pretty!
The "do" was a little over-the-top, though. Too much gel, Adam.
And the wardrobe - a make-shift ensemble of shirt-like shifts - a bit drab.
Under the weather last night, kid?
But, Lambert is mesmerizing, and definitely has star quality.
A couple of the kids warbled Elvis tunes - which, in the case of crooner Casey James - was a terrible mistake.
Simon echoed my sentiments precisely.
"It was such a forgetable song. Why would you perform that?"
Ellen and the other Judges were polite, commended the cutie for taking on the challenge, and offered up kudos for his golden voice, stage persona, and the like.
"You look at home in a sea of girls," one quipped.
Frankly, the ponytail look, is a dead one as far as I'm concerned.
And, the wispy bit of whiskers at his lip, downright silly.
Would you plunk a sloppy kiss on that?
Casey pines to be a rocker, but is middle-of-the-road top-forty, all the way.
Until he fathoms that reality he's kidding himself, eh?
Tim's rendition of "Can't Help Falling in Love" - with a spare bare-bones guitar back-up - was straightforward and honest.
Whenvever I get up at Karaoke in WeHo (heh, Kenny!) and warble that one, I jokingly snarl to the half-drunk crowd of buffed dudes, that it is one of the songs that "killed" Elvis.
There were two Elvis's essentially.
The lithe, hip-swivelling crooner, who was raw and wild and oozing with sensuality.
Best hits of that era?
"Return to Sender" and "Heartbreak Hotel"!
The "E" of a later generation was all smaltz, Vegas routine, and a spent shadow of "Elvis".
A gentleman I once knew who worked on one of the TV Specials Elvis signed on for, confided that the editors were forced to utilize quite a few magic studio techniques, to make the musical event fly.
For good reason.
Elvis oft forgot the words, stumbled on stage, and lost focus throughout.
But, the fans didn't care, they gobbled the legend up.
Like the Kennedy assassination, folks tend to recall where they were when they heard the shocking news of Elvis's death.
I was on Toronto Island at the Royal Canadian Yacht Club when a friend telephoned me about the disturbing unexpected news.
When I turned to an immigrant from India next to me, and relayed the unbelievable news, his response was pretty low-key.
"Oh, he was just a pop star. No one will remember him tomorrow. Who cares?"
I distinctly recall that I assured him that Elvis death's was "big news" and that many people would - not only be stunned - but plummet into a deep well of despair.
Sure enough - within days - fans, hungry media hounds, and curious lookie-loo's - were on their way to Memphis to take part in the circus-like atmosphere that prevailed for weeks-on-end.
When Michael sang "In the Ghetto" tonight, it brought back memories of Elvis.
Just before Elvis released that song, his music career was pretty much in the dumper.
With the release of that song (which touched fans and music aficiandos and tough critics alike) Elvis was elevated to a new status (and level of respect) in the industry.
It wasn't just the ballad, or his phrasing, that struck a chord.
No sir, it was the sentiment.
The lyrics were comparable to Martin Luther King's speech about having a dream.
One judge labelled Michael's performance sleepy, but on the heels of that harsh criticism, he noted the vocals were hot.
Ellen, on the other hand, noted that she was glad (in retrospect) that they saved Mike from packing up and heading home with his tail between-his-legs last week..
Katie Stevens was a fine mess visually.
All those do-dads and tacky sequins on her outfit were distracting.
Judges need to stress that the music industry is not just about cutting records and performing, but also, about style, originality, stage presence and persona.
By the way, the popular cast of "Glee" was in the audience.
The hit ensemble show follows "American Idol" on the Fox Network.
In closing, you may be excited to hear that Adam Lambert is slated to perform live tonight on Idol.
He'll show those kids how it's done, just betcha!

Adam Lambert...to mentor American Idol contestants! April 14th episode...
The sizzling hot news?
Lambert will not only mentor next week's hopefuls on American Idol - but will also perform his latest hit on the stage - at Fox!
"Whataya Want From Me" will blast across the old boob tube on April 14th.
In closing, Adam chirped that he was excited at the prospect of returning to his old stomping grounds.
"Even though I'm just at the start of my recording career, I hope to lend some insight as one who's been thru the Idol adventure."

Adam Lambert & Pam Anderson New Year Celebration! Paramount studios bash...
The top-heavy lusty lovely - with the wide sexy smile - is expected to take on the task of MC (Mistress of Ceremonies), Adam Lambert will gyrate onto the stage and offer up a live! concert with a come-hither look that is sure to captivate his die-hard fans, and a posse of revellers will ring in the New Year at the stroke of midnight.
And, Paramount Studios will play host to the blow-out bash expected to be a big ticket-seller!
Although bad- boy Lambert may be banned from prime-time TV temporarily - until he's paid his penace, at least - the thronging masses will be inclined to seek him out nonetheless (on air or not).
Notwithstanding, isn't it time Dick Clark was put out to pasture, and some young stud installed in his place to do the honors henceforth?
Ryan Seacrest appears to be a likely candidate, but how about someone with a bit of pizazz and sex appeal?
I'll put on my thinking cap on that one and get back to 'ya!
Happy New Year!

Federal Trade Commission...seeks stricter content guidelines on web! Young audiences targeted...
The FTC recently cautioned that entertainment companies need to restrict violent content which may be accessible to young children who access the Internet without parental controls in check.
The Government agency (which recently expanded its reach into the World-Wide-Web) noted for the record recently- that while a handful of film and video-game companies have been more mindful of establishing a ratings system that is effective in this regard - more effort needed be made to self-police the industry-at-large..
The FTC alleges that parents have a difficult time monitoring content since there is a proliferation of unrated (director's cut versions) films on the Internet that are difficult to weed out among the mainstream fodder that is less worrisome.
According to the FTC, one of out every three parents, is unaware of the existence of these "uncut" releases spinning out-of-control on the blogosphere - and elsewhere on the net - unmonitored (or even identified for the most part).
In response to the criticism, a spokesperson at the Motion Picture Association of America (a ratings forum in the film industry arena) assured concerned FTC officials - and parents alike - that they are committed to ensuring that films are marketed truthfully with the ultimate aim of providing parents with concise information about content so that educated decisions may be made about film choices for their young ones.
On the heels of that issue, the content watchdog duly noted that PG-13 movies were also aco ncern.
Apparently, youths under thirteen years of age are screening the films on the sly on the Internet without adult supervision.
One has to wonder if the FTC's concerns about explicit content in music biz product wasn't perhaps triggered by the recent brouhaha over Adam Lambert's raunchy live! performance on the American Music Awards just a scant few weeks ago.
Enquiring minds want to know!

Barbara Walters...fascinating! Gushed over 1st Lady's arms! Lady Gaga choked on sex query! Lambert a "homo"!
Surprisingly, the one-hour Barbara Walter special opened with bodacious Pop Icon Lady Gaga,
Personally, I expected teasers throughout the night - crafted to entice fans to to remain transfixed in front of the old boob tube - in anticipation of an insightful reveal of the naughty chanteuse as promised by the undisputed Queen of insightful probes.
So, if you dashed in the front door a few minutes into the special - or sauntered out to walk the dog at the stroke of ten - you may have misssed an honor that Lady Gaga accorded the talk-show legend.
Shortly after being introduced, the platinum beauty (looking more Italian than ever) slipped off her ultra-chic dark sunglasses and confided that she rarely dropped that barrier for just any showbiz sucker.
Barbara was in top form last night - all decked out in a chic black cocktail dress which accentuated her trim toned physique- sparked up with an elegant necklace which begged closer inspection.
More importantly, Barbara WAWA didn't beat around the "bush".
No pun intended!
"It's been reported that you like women," Barbara started off slowly, as she tested the waters with Lady G.
Before the flavor of the month could respond, Barbara pounced with a second question, in a sort-of surprise sneak attack.
Have you had sex with women?
Were it not for the thick white pancake make-up, fans - for the first time ever - you may have actually caught the outrageous stage performer blushing!
For a moment, it appeared for all-the-world that she'd answer the ball*y query, too.
But, when the slightly-quirky pop star opened her sensuous lustily-painted lips to speak, for some inexplicable reason, a half-expected bona-fide no-holds-barred confession was not forthcoming.
Gosh, she appeared to utter from the depths of her soul, that's quite a personal question.
For a split second, the poker faced lady was anything but; in fact - in essence - the chart-topper was literally reduced to a shy awkward virgin reticent about - well - talking turkey!
A disappointment, when you consider that Gaga is usually the playful sex kitten on stage, flaunting her sensual brand of passion without any qualms or holding back.
In contrast, a few moments later, Adam Lambert shot from his swivelling hips.
"Yes, I am a homosexual."
Who knew!
On this newsbite, Barbara clearly caught the tail end of the comet.
Ho Hum!
Lambert didn't offer up any excuses for his controversial stage persona in recent days, but frankly, admitted he let his passions get the better of him (in an unrehearsed fly by-the-crotch adrenalin rush) on stage that fateful night at the American Music Awards - which ultimately - caused the swish-buckler to be banished from ABC airwaves.
"I wear my emotions on my sleeve," he confessed somewhat poignantly.
At the close of the interview, he had a message for American TV viewers (and critics).
"Deal with it."
Never to be caged in (or hankering to be too predictable) Barbara spun off in a new direction at this juncture and focused for a brief duration on the sports arena.
Brett Favre's flip-flopping football career was great fodder (and thus) established in the eyes of Barbara that he was not only a candidate for "hero and myth-maker" but ripe for the title of one of most fascinating (10) people of the year.
After all, the stud's unique brand of rise and fall theatrics (on and off the gridiron) was the stuff that legends are made of.
When Barbara announced an upcoming spot with Sarah Palin, an announcer noted that the most-fascinating individual would follow after the spot with the perky politician.
Ah, the suspense was over; obviously, Sarah Palin was not going to be "the" most fascinating person of 2009 (just one of ten singled out by the veteran newsie).
I admit, Palin is the most intriguing gun-toter, polar-bear killer, and in-law hater.
But, one of the ten most fascinating?
Poppycock!
In the somewhat low-key segment, Barbara asked point blank if Sarah wanted to be President.
Her reply was a tad evasive.
Fresh from commerical break, the upstart from the great white north, admitted she didn't know why people found her fascinating.
Say what?
Do they?
"There's alot of bull-crap out there," she guffawed, when reminded of the mean barbs she was forced to endure on the campaign trail in her rented Republican monkey-suits.
If you ask me, most of the celebrated dung was being flung from her party.
In response to a query about Dave Letterman, she was hard-nosed and to the point.
"He's a sexist," she retorted without batting a pretty eyelash.
T*t for tat, eh?
Her life was "kind-of a reality-show", she sighed.
When asked what most she'd like to change about herself, her answer was swift.
"To be more patient," for starters.
What does she dislike most about her appearance?
Bearing five children tooks its toll, she admitted, so the old bod suffered some fall-out.
"Don't make me go into details."
Palin's idea of a perfect day goes something like this:
Snow is falling on the ground, it's a wonderful beautiful Alaskan day, and all family members are at home and enjoying each other's company.
Except for Levi Johnston, of course!
Talk about squeaky-clean bull-crap!
Time to move on, wouldn't 'ya say?
Michael Jackson was singled out in the top ten, too, in spite of his untimely demise.
Instead of focusing on the pop star and his music, Barbara chose to focus on his adorable kids, his conscientious efforts to provide a good home, protect the children from prying eyes of the media, and be a good father (in spite of the storms raging on outside of the family compound).
In that segment, Ms. Walters closed with one stinging criticism from Michael (which appeared to come straight from the grave).
"I didn't like being called wacko-Jacko!"
The well-thought-out top ten list also included a talk show host notorious for being outspoken and expressing unpopular views.
A governor's wife was also applauded for the way she handled her husband's indiscretions.
And, the intriguing list would not have been complete without an actor in tow.
Yawn!
Finally, the big moment arrived.
The most fascinating person, in the final analysis, appeared to have been catapulted into her heady status by virtue of her muscular eye-catching arms alone!
Any ideas?
Yessir!
The prestigious title was bestowed on the 1st Lady, Michelle Obama - who, by Walters' accounts - was shaping up to be so much more than the sum of her toned body parts.
When asked to describe the past year of her life, the Mrs. Obama was quick on the uptake, in a refreshing on-camera moment which was not unlike a breath of fresh air.
"It's been a whirlwind. I visited eight countries, planted a garden, got a dog, and now getting ready for the first Christmas in the White House."
But, there had been humanitarian accommplishments, too.
"We began to lay a foundation for the health of kid in this countrys. One in three children, you know, are obese. African-American children suffer most from this problem, with hispanic children right behind."
Now, Barbara wanted to talk about the famous Michelle Obama arms.
Could they?
"Certainly."
"Do you feel pressured about keeping them up," Barbara amusingly quizzed in so many words.
Michelle prefaced this part of the conversation by noting that - In spite of her hectic schedule - her personal routine hadn't changed much.
The busy homemaker started to work out and get in tip-top shape after Maria was born, in fact.
"It was a bit of revenge because Barack always found time to stay in shape and go to the gym. I was resentful of that."
One day, it all fell into place, she explained to Barbara just like that.
"At four o'clock, I would get up to feed the baby. So, I thought, I may as well go to the gym."
Instinctively, Michelle also knew that if she wasn't there at the house, her hubby would get up and feed the baby in her absence.
"The arms took a lot of determination," she asserted, in a last-ditch effort to square away the details.
By the way, Mrs. Obama looked stunning!
A coral-colored gown - which draped off one shoulder with a understated (but elegant) fashion flourish - suited her pretty looks.
A swept up "do" - somewhat reminiscent of the Victorian era - highlighted and drew attention to her distinctive facial features - in particular -a prominent forehead, high cheekbones, and strong (determined) jaw.
Kudos!
The 1st lady noted - when asked - that her downfall tended to be inherent in the realms of poor food-based habits and low-brow TV programs.
Heaven, to Michelle, is an hour of quiet time - with the dog in her lap - reflecting on life (and day-to-day matters).
In spite of the fact Michelle has resided in the White House for almost a year, the happily-married mom still marvels at the sumptuous White House environs.
Bascially, she feels blessed, when the limo purrs up the front drive of the beautiful home, and the staff greet her with two heartfelt words:
"Welcome home."
At times, just betcha, Michelle pinches herself to fathom if it's all a surreal dream.
In sum, the President's wife was charming, eloquent, and projected a classy image.
Ah, a 1st lady all American should be proud of, right?

Adam Lambert...ABC cancels GMA slot amidst swirl of controversy! Pop Idol Act too "hot" to handle...
One of the local dailies captioned the cheeky dalliance with potentially x-rated material "Risque Business"
Meanwhile, the tongues of office workers wagged at water coolers around the country non-stop to a fever pitch.
At issue was Adam Lambert's in-your-face (literally!) American Music Awards stage performance - in which Fox TV's darling Pop Idol - grabbed his crotch suggestively at one climatic moment (then, planted a juicy kiss on a surprised male musician the next).
The impromptu spontaneous (there weren't any rehearsals?) stabs at notoriety - subsequently - triggered a shi*-load of negative e-mail and a barrage of irate phone calls to the network's switchboard from amrchair prudes in the heartland (and elsewhere, no doubt).
Initially, the Parents Television Council (the strongest vocal opponent in the wake of the controversy) appeared to be attacking the out & proud Diva, who some contend crossed the line (and bounds of decency).
But, in a release issued to the press hours later, PTC was inclined to condemn the Network, the advertisers, and the scheming producers (Dick Clark Productions) for broadcasting a show in the family hour which they asserted was "tasteless" and "vulgar" in the final analysis.
A director of communications for the watchdog group underscored that their criticisms were levelled at the performance (and the intrinsic nature of it) and not Lambert, or the song, per se.
I agree wholeheartedly that Networks should be mindful in respect to content in the bill-of-fare that is broadcast over the airwaves when viewers are tuning in during the family hour.
For good reason!
Kids are mimickers.
Once they catch sight of a pop icon thrusting their crotch into the face of another performer, they're likely to assume that the behaviour is "OK", and proceed to act out the scenario with fellow toddlers in the playground at the crack of dawn the following day.
Ouch!
ABC was quick on the uptake.
In a terse press statement, they noted that they were canceling a previously-slated performance by Lambert which was to air on "GMA" in the near future.
This response to viewer complaints dove-tailed nicely with prior assurances that they were not aware of the content that was initially planned by Lambert et al.
"ABC had seen Lambert in rehearsals and knew some of what he had planned, but not the extent," according to an AP report.
Notwithstanding, in any civilized society, care must be taken to ensure that debauchery is not allowed to creep in unchecked, take hold - and ultimately - corrupt our youth.
I applaud the efforts of organizations such as the Parents TV Council for taking a stand on the issues.
In other quarters, the controversial fiasco turned out to have a silver lining, though.
When ABC dropped Lambert with a big thud on their back doorstep, CBS rushed in with welcoming arms, and signed the newly-minted Pop Star for a gig on their not-so-picky open-to-controversy network.
Uh-huh!
Scandal begets ratings, big time!
Just ask Dave Letterman.
In response to all the media hoopla - and viewer outrage - Lambert was surprisingly apologetic.
"They gotta do what they gotta do."
"It's too bad, I think that there were a lot of fans who were excited to come see me," he added somewhat poignantly.
Just maybe, Lambert needs to don a bustier and net stockings to get some respect.
After all, some critics have labelled ABC TV's actions as hypocritical.
"The network applies different standards to sexual posturing depending on whether the performer is male or female," one commentator astutedy noted for the record.
Pop Icons like Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Lady Gaga get away with murder in prime time, one internet surfer lamented in a blog post last night, in so many words.
For once, dudes have yet to break through the glass ceiling, in that topsy-turvy show-biz arena!
Scintillating Lambert splintered the heck out of it this week at the AMA's , that's for bloody - ooops! - bl**dy sure!

Adam Lambert...multi-tracked gutsy release! Foothold on solid musical ground...
The big brouhaha a few months ago over Adam Lambert's musical musings (and management entanglements) which threatened to beckon a fall from Grace with fans because of it - was all for nothing.
In spite of the blood feud and the nasty airing of dirty laundry with handlers and record execs in public - "American Idol" Pop Icon "Adam Lambert" - has managed to wing his glorious way out of the quagmire and into a heart-pumping musical awakening, of sorts.
And, tough critics are handing out kudos, too.
At the MTV web site, young hottie contemporaries articulated their sensory overload with reviews that ranged from one end of the rainbow spectrum to the other (cool, lukewarm, ecstatic).
"A lot of explosions. And graphics. So, I liked that," one dude ranted.
Yeah, but what about the pretty songbird and his chirping?
"His personality came out, definitely," another gushed.
"Video didn't match the song. So, it didn't go right at all," a stylish fashionista quipped a sec later.
And, then, there was this hilarious little ditty.
"The whole fire & brimstone thing is so overdone. So, it was kinda lame," one pretty teen offered up in so many words (with a slight grimmace on her blemish-free skin).
Ouch!
Betcha she wouldn't kick Lambert out of bed for eating crackers, though.
But, the dude next to him?
In the frenetic video - shot for the big-budget feature 2012 - Lambert belts out an ear-splitting tune sure to appeal to the ultra-chic Goth & Vamp set.
Lambert strutted and mugged - and delighted Idol "lovers" - who lapped it all up when the over-the-top tune made its ceremonious entrance online amidst a lot of fanfare earlier this week.
Die-hard fans may spring for a keepsake at Amazon and iTunes with cash, credit card, or paypal in hand.

American Idol...no sense of humor! Simon dishes it out, but can't take it...

On the heels of penning a couple of posts on Adam Lambert, Twitter tweeted me that top-rated American Idol was now following moi!
I expect that the powers-that-be at the popular "Star-Search" copycat show wanted to keep abreast of what was being written about their new Diva darling who caught the imagination of folks around the country in recent weeks.
On occasion, when a new follower joins the ranks, I take a poke or two in a follow-up (no pun intended) post.
In an odd-ball sort-of-way, it's kind of like an initiation rite frat boys are subjected to.
For example, after Adam Lambert fans became avid readers of my tongue-in-check musings, I took a bit of a humorous jab at Adam and the sudden trappings of his success.
No problem, though!
They ate it all up and have been hanging around pining for more.
Just gluttons for punishment!
Likewise, when Ellen Fans started to follow, I fanned the flames a bit by putting the spotlight squarely on their perky talk-show host and some of her quirks and misses for a day or two.
Yup, American Idol was a perfect target for my blend of humor, too.
So, I excitedly plunked myself down at the PC one morning and penned - what I thought - was a hilarious fun jab at Cowell and contestants like Adam Lambert who have appeared on the talent showcase for up-and-coming pop singers.

In fact, judging by the reaction of my regular readers & Lambert fans, the post was a hoot!
ALF folks quickly pinged my blog site, linked the insightful humorous hang-dog Valentine to a handful of entertainment (and fan) sites around the globe, and so forth, and so on.
However, American Idol was not - as the (um) Queen would say - "amused".
On the heels of publishing the post at high-traffic web sites I am part 'n parcel to both here and abroad, American Idol pulled the plug!
Yup, the spoil sports stopped "following" within a measly twenty-four hours of signing on.
What hypocrites!
Each week Cowell and his gang of hollow has beens trot contestants out in the spotlight - and then mercilessly - proceed to shamelessly toss darts at (in some cases totally humiliate) their targets to rustle up a cheap laugh.
Ah, but when the shoe is on the other foot, Cowell heads straight for the Fox dugout.
Cowell, in particular, can dish it out - but in the final analysis - can't take it when the tables are turned.
Indeed, all the wide smiles and mugging for camera, is nothing more than a public-relations ploy.
In truth, the cads at AI are a humorless cast of conceited talent-show-lizards (related once removed by their cousins, the lounge lizardsl) with all the personality and charm of a can of earth worms.
Just betcha, that when the lights go down on the sound stage and the 1st Assistant cries out - "It's a wrap" - that the whole sorry lot of 'em scurry back under the rocks from whence they came.
Regular readers one "truism" I posted on my blog a few months ago.
"Mediocrity is the opiate of the masses."
Uh-huh!
Cowell and his gang of whores are the worst purveyors to sling it in the TV Show ratings game.
Adam steals whole enchilada!

Adam Lambert...Hi Fi recordings continue to duke it out!

If American Idol fans have been following the Adam Lambert/ Hi Fi Recordings cat fight - the latest "just in" - won't send 'em into a tailspin.
Yeah, it's all just a lot of - they said, she said - eh?
In a nutshell, it was announced last week - after the single "Want" was released on iTunes - that Hi Fi would press a full-fledged album later this summer from a bulk of musical musings Lambert apparently conjured up in a recording studio with little ado over the past two or three years.
Understandably, Lambert has a legitimate reason to be upset, if what he asserts is true.
"Last Friday I was surprised to find out that songs I recorded in 2005 were being released."
"Since then I discovered the entire track listing revealed online today."
"I was shocked to learn that songwriting demos of songs that I co-wrote and recorded over the past few years may be released in an album. Like a rough draft that a writer does before finishing a book, I did not intend my work on these demos to be heard by the public.
"I was unaware that anyone intended to release these recordings until I heard about it in the press and I'm very disappointed by this entire situation."
If you can't trust your handlers, then might as well pack it in, kiddo.
Those kind of woes obviously led to Michael Jackson's early demise if the truth be known.
Will Adam have to cut Hi Fi loose?
Maybe not, but the two need to confer, and get their creative differences squared away.
It's a messy kind of train wreck spilling out all over the music industry landscape in living color.
In an effort to effect damage control - and prevent their meal ticket from jumping ship - Hi Fi released their own version of the tawdry tale.
"As we've already outlined, releasing this music was always the plan. That plan was changed by 19 Recordings after Adam won America over with his extraordinary talent."
"It's a shame that his management/record company choose to disavow their client's work and discredit him as a songwriter.
"As an independent company whose role it is to help put this out, we at Hi Fi think this is an absolute slap in the face to Wilshire Records."
"That small indie music company, run by an experienced music producer, Malcolm Welsford, thrives on finding, nurturing and championing new talent, and now they find themselves at a tremendous potential loss."
"Adam's songwriting partner, Monte Pittman, now finds himself at a tremendous potential loss. Via the press, in the words of the musician they dedicated so much time and money to, they are being told that their work with Adam should never see the light of day."
Or, be given half-the-chance to take a stab at the unpredictable pop charts.
In a kissy-face effort to salvage the ship before it goes down, a Hi Fi rep rebounded a tad in the eyes of Adam - no doubt - when he ended his press release with a statement rife with glowing tributes about Adam's musical gifts.
To save their necks? No doubt.
"We apologize for what has become a tiresome tit for tat, particularly on a day that we mourn the loss of a truly original, game-changing entertainer, but unfortunately, each statement released in Adam's name contains a different story."
"We remain steadfast in our assertion that we seek only to share the music Adam wrote, according to plan, so his fans know the depth of his talent and see that he will be handsomely rewarded for his work."
But, here comes the kicker!
On the heels of the mud-slinging, Hi Fi noted for the record one stickler which may back someone into a corner they can't squeeze out of.
Not even with a king-size jar of KY.
Yeah, someone may get fu**ed - um - in the end.
After all, record execs are now alleging that they have a bona fide recording contract with Adam, which was signed on Feb. 12 (2008).
Holy American Idol, Batman!
In fact, it was because of that little piece of binding legal "tender", that the CD track - "Want" - got the "green light" to be released through iTunes a scant few days ago.
Oops!
Well, 'ya know what they say: the proof is in the pudding.
Someone may have to fess up pronto to save face - and more importantly - avoid litigation.
In the final analysis, I lean on Adam's side when it comes to a course of action.
Any true artist who is a professional would balk at the idea of cutting a CD that wasn't up-to-snuff - especially in view of the stunning turn-of-events which occurred in recent weeks on American Idol - which has turned Adam Lambert into a household "brand" name, for starters.
Nor is it to the advantage of Hi Fi to release recordings of their top dog which are demo-grade - and quite possibly - below professional recording standards.
Adam and Hi Fi need only tweak and rearrange the material on the demos in order to strike a potential mother lode, in my estimation, as I noted in a blog post earlier this week.
After all, an artist's early recordings - coming on the heels of International success - are often deemed the most valuable to collectors, connoisseurs, and music-lovers in general.
Haven't the dueling partners ever heard of the phrase musical roots?
Into the studio, girls!

American Idol...No. 1 TV Entertainment show teams up with No. 1 Blog! The Tattler is all a-twitter...

Well, although I was too old (their opinion, not mine) to audition - and in spite of the fact I practised for weeks to break my stage fright on ego-stroking Karaoke nights - I have now found a way to slip my formidable warbling talents before the likes of Simon Cowell at American Idol.
Yup, the tweet came down from the Heavens like golden manna, the other morning.
American Idol is now following MOI on Twitter.
Do you suppose my sleeping buddy Adam Lambert (kidding!) put in a good word with Simon between the silky bed sheets (wouldn't you like to be a fly on the wall in that scenario) or was it just the fickle finger of fate following God's precious pop-idol cookie-cutter plan?
No matter, not unlike wacky Lucy (who schemed ad nauseam to break into elusive show business under the watchful eye of Ricky's thick - um - Cuban accent) I've hatched a clever plan to connive my way onto American Idol - and ultimately - bring down the house!
Right, the men-in-blue chasing me around a packed house of Hollywood hopefuls with middle America watching from the sidelines in their armchairs at home, should be good for a hearty guffaw or two!
All kidding aside, I am truly flattered that the glitterati at top-rated Idol have deemed me worthy of a click or two, as I report on the dazzling Entertainment landscape here on the West Coast, around this great country, and beyond.
Of course, I am a fan of Idol, so it is a painless responsibility.
Moreover, it should be noted that I have even given the No. 1 Entertainment Show a glowing review or two in the past, so it is no skin off my back to be sure dudes!
Just last year I penned a post on "Idol Gives Back", which was well-received here and a-broad, according to globe-trotting socialite pal Dame Edna.
There's nothing like a bit of philanthropy to uplift a dude's heart.

Meanwhile, if there are special promos, events (oh-so-chic high-society soirees?) that I should be duly informed about and invited to (hint! hint!) do - um - belt it out, eh?
Finally, a few parting words from a wise old musical Saint, worth paying heed to!
"If music be the food of life, then eat on."
Uh, did I get that quote right?

Adam Lambert...Fox TV (Chicago) reports that the American Idol darling laments to fans: "Don't Buy my album"...

In a brief news flash all-a-twitter, Adam Lambert & fans (followers) provided a link to a Fox News outlet in Chicago that issued the following release about high noon today:
"Adam Lambert: "Don't By My Album"
Updated: Thursday, 25 Jun 2009, 1:12 PM CDT
Published : Thursday, 25 Jun 2009, 1:12 PM CDT
Yesterday, on the heels of the release of the "WANT" iTunes single, a press notice tipped off fans about the next ambitious offering - "On with the Show" - a sizzling album to debut on the unpredictable (!) musical horizon in the near future.
But, after TMZ stepped into the fray last evening and posted a memo questioning the origins of the material (did the tunes spring up from the Diva's creative well?), fans (and the charismatic songbird) have remained tight-lipped.
We're mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore!
Well, not so fast!
Just maybe, the mysterious turn-of-events merit a bit of surreptitious investigation by the master sleuth, moi!
News at 11!
Meanwhile, the trussed up Pop Icon prepares for the July 5th kick-off of the much-anticipated American Idol tour.
Got tickets?
Front row seats, center, Dudes!

Thomas Carlyle (Wordsworth) opined:
"Who is there that, in logical words, can express the effect music has on us?"
"A kind of inarticulate unfathomable speech, which leads us to the edge of the infinite and lets us gaze into that."
On the other hand, Simon, I agree with your two cohorts & their sentiments pictured above.
Silence is golden!

Adam Lambert...CD released on iTunes ovenight!

Simply titled "Want" (a loaded label, nonetheless) the spanking-new Adam Lambert tune - released on iTunes overnight - is sure to be a splashy hit.
Well, with Idol fans who worship the rainbow clouds he dances on, without doubt!
The little ditty - sure to top the charts overnight (just betcha) - was lifted from an album tentatively titled - "On with the Show" - to be released later in the year @ Hi-Fi recordings.
Since a co-credit goes to Wilshire Records - are fans to assume that the pop gems were pressed in a local studio in the Beverly Hills corridor - or Hollywood proper perchance?
According to Adam Lambert & fans (twitter followers) the music was compiled over the past two to three years at the peak of a productive creative & business partnership with astute mentor Malcolm Welsford who recognized his gift "moons" ago.
In spite of the fact the song stylings aren't fresh out of the gate - with a judicious bit of tweaking and arranging - maybe they'll land a sizzling hot spot on the charts as the lazy days of summer unfold here on the West Coast and buffed bodes drift to surf parties in Malibu in souped up jalopies.
Try for a chart-stopper, Adam, that will reflect the golden hype, hoopla, and hysteria of your dazzling performance on the American Idol show just a scant few weeks ago.
Then, your musical persona will be etched in the hearts and the minds of Americans for years to come, circa 2009 for sure!

American Idol...Adam Lambert courting cute dude! Yummy, judging by the smooch...

Well, Adam turned up at a trendy watering hole this past week with a young cutie in tow.
Heh, dude, not shoddy!
The handsome young toy-boy was packed into tight designer jeans (looked kind of like the battle of the bulge to me) and sported a finely-trimmed beard that edged the stud muffin's well-sculpted chin.
Judging by the grin on the American Idol-winner's face - he's obviously getting nookie - big time!
There's a bit of wild speculation about kinky role-playing going on between-the-sheets.
As the character on "In Living Color" used to say:
"I'm not one to gossip, but - "
