The State Attorney General's office is investigating a possible connection between Corey Haim's death and an illegal Southern California prescription drug ring.
During an ongoing investigation, authorities stumbled on unauthorized prescriptions in the actor's name, in a drug vendor's files in San Diego.
Prescription drugs were also found at Haim's rental unit at the Oakwood Apartments in the valley where he resided with his mother.
Allegedly, the sophisticated criminals secure the identities of legitimate doctors (without their knowledge usually) in order to purchase prescription slips (in bulk pads) from authorized distributors.
Prescriptions are then written and sold on the street - at which point - the purchasersubmits them to a pharmacy to have the order filled (noone the wiser).
Pending further updates, Corey Haim's death is being acknowledged as an alleged overdose.
