When the Land Conservancy of British Columbia purchased South Winchelsea Island to protect endangered wildlife transfer of the secluded piece of heaven ended up benefitting tourists and locals alike.
A three-bedroom solar-powered cottage on the property was made available as a rental to travellers.
For the paltry sum of $275 per night guests have use of the quaint cottage, picturesque trail, and a rocky beach front with a spectacular view of Georgia Strait.
The island is three miles off of Vancouver Island and has limited access by way of crab-boat taxi.
Unless the traveller has their own boat cruiser, canoe or Kayak, of course!
